...I'm really not happy with the idea of being forced to help make corporations rich off of my suffering. I feel like both "sides" taking part in this argument are oversimplifying this to the point that it's impossible to ask questions about why things are being included or excluded. What also bugs me is that every time I try to discuss this with people, they either accuse me of wanting them to pay for my health care or they choose to not engage at all with me. The former is kind of an odd way to look at it since I'm only asking for what every other developed nation has--a national health care system that allows no one to go without some sort of health care. Sure, it's paid for by taxes, but so what? You want to see me die because I'd rather not fund some rich guy's expensive habits?

Apparently. Better I compromise my principles than you help me pay for cancer treatments (don't even get me started on how we spend trillion$ on fighting wars on Terror but hardly anything fighting Cancer). But whatever--the point is, this is what I get from Liberals. So much for being, you know, LIBERAL.

I also get the silent treatment from Liberals. They either don't know how or are just too afraid to deal with my take on this--that no one should be forced to pay for anything--even health care--especially when someone is getting rich off of my suffering (or my utter lack of suffering since I'm in good health and have been for 95% of my life--so WHY do I need to be forced to get health insurance??)

Are we a country that cherishes some Conservative definition of "hard work" more than we cherish life and life with dignity? It seems so.
