Draw Every Day 4/30/12: Robo Rabbit
While attempting to make a cuter bunny design for another take on my "Nyan Bunny" character, I went in the opposite direction and imagined what robotic rabbits might look like. So here's my answer to that question.

This has been driving me nuts for years and still no one calls the Republicans on it. Just saw a headline today that said Bohner accused Obama of picking fake fights. I mean, COME ON, BOHNER. Anyone who has read the novel "1984" knows that politics is all about fake fights--anything to keep the politicians in office. I'm getting pretty tired of this pot-accuses-kettle politics.

Yeah, I hate to break it to ya, but most of the stuff we humans are afraid of every day isn't anything worth being afraid of. Odds are, if you don't die of old age, you'll die by a car accident or cancer.

This is the main villain from Arachis Hypogaea. I wonder if I should color this comic, after all. I was thinking about leaving it B&W but the color of El's tie and handkerchief has meaning. Or maybe I'll just leave some bits in color and others not?

I haven't had time to work on ?????????? at all, so the next few DEDs are going to be character drawings. You've seen them before in other DEDs, but I'm drawing them again for practice (and it's all I've got time for).

Not sure where in my mind this guy came from, but I find him kind of creepy. The lone red eye and the pointy fingers, not sure what it is. But this is a motif I'm sticking with for a while.

Draw Every Day 4/3/12: Margarine Man!
I love the concept of this character and the basic design, but I'm not happy that I screwed up the tub on the left. Also, from this angle, you can't *really* tell that his torso is just a tub of margarine. My thought is that he throws margarine at his enemies to mess them up. Then, he stores them in his tub until he can find a police officer to turn them over to. Note the "m" shaped hair curl on his forehead. :)

I'm really quite happy with this. It was a rush job, but I still drew something and it looks kinda cool. The nose isn't really finished.
Draw Every Day 4/2/12: Too Tall for the Page
Inspired by my "Cesar" action figure (from "The Cabinet of Caligari" my favorite silent film), this guy came out of my head bent, sideways, at the waist. I realized, as I drew, that if he'd been standing straight, he'd have been too tall for the page. However, the real reason for drawing him was to play with cross-hatching. I wanted to experiment with changing the direction of the cross-hatching to see how things would look.

This is me holding up the last coffee candy I have in my possession. I'm not getting any headaches or shakes from the lack of actual caffeine. I've drawn it freakishly large because of it's importance to me. It is my LAST ONE. I can only find them out in Jersey. I don't like going out to Jersey. Grrr...

I wrote this back around April 9, 2012, when the Supreme Court was considering what to do about Obamacare. I think it should be junked and our entire system redone in the style of the UK's NHS. In this strip, and the one for April 24th, I explain why.

Back when I did the Panda made of circles, I had this idea to work in more blob-like shapes. The Nyan Bunnies were attempts and working in more amorphous shapes. But I'm not sure what this even is. Maybe you put him on your desk and let him hold your smartphone while it's charging?

Draw Every Day for 4/24/12: the SS Blobship in the Blob Navy
After yesterday's blob-based tank, I thought I'd try my hand at a blob boat. Alas, imagining the physics of a blob that can somehow float was difficult and I'm not super happy with this drawing. To me it looks like the barsoap navy. Ah well. Please look at some of my other drawings. Most are much better. :)

I drew this back while the Supreme Court was considering whether to strike down Obamacare completely or just strike parts of it. Regardless, I had things to be said. Sadly, I was swamped with work and avoiding sickness, so I couldn't draw the next two strips in the series, or even post this one until today, 4/23/12.

Draw Every Day 4/21/12: Standing Man Fort Tryon Park
I started drawing this guy just as he decided to walk away. Literally. I started with the brim of his cap and then, after being there for a half hour, he left. >_< So, he's from memory and everything else is my interpretation of what was in front of me.
20 degree drop in the high over 1 day. Is that normal?

Draw Every Day 3/28/12: Businessman Bug Bot
OK, crappy name, but you got something better? I wanted to draw a robot business man, but got to the waist and realized I was going to draw some seriously boring legs, so I decided to go in the opposite direction. Pretty cool, I think.
