Finally home in NYC and it feels super surreal. Here's why:

In the last 3 weeks I have been down with a cold, been to six different islands (five outside the US), visited four countries (two of them were islands), traveled by train, bus, boat, cruise ship, car, subway and zipline, saw an actual spaceship (the Shuttle Atlantis in Cape Canaveral), turned 43, ate some of the best food and some of the worst (both on the cruise ship), met some really great people, strengthened some friendships (most importantly, the one with my mom), got a ton of stuff around my mom's place done, saw a handful of movies and actually got some writing done.

Today is my first full day back in NYC and while it is great to be back, it seems very strange to be back after traveling for so long. Here at home, I essentially live by myself, in an apartment that is filled with my stuff (and my wife's but she lives on that cruise ship until September), and this apartment doesn't move, and I don't have external stuff providing a lot to do and see.

It's just me, here, with my extensive task list and my somewhat small social circle. What comes next is suddenly hard for me to decide on. I have four weeks from yesterday to get things done before I leave to visit that cruise ship again, so I better decide on something soon.

So, for the second week in a row, I've had a (1st world) problem getting #FedEx packages actually delivered to me. So, I called to find out where my package was and I thought I'd record the conversation--you know for quality assurance purposes.
