Series Title: CUTEY HONEY
Episode: 1 AN ANGEL DESCENDS
Premise: A female guardian fights for justice by transforming from one bad-ass fighter into another to better fit whatever scenario she is facing.

ThePete's Review: This is definitely a fun show. Of course, it's not for everyone and it's not for kids. There's a lot of nudity and if it were a movie, it would definitely be rated PG-13. Every time Cutey Honey transforms into a new woman, her clothes tear off and reform. Granted, her clothes take a few seconds to reform, but for all us heterosexual men and you homosexual women, they're a fun few seconds. That said, this series is silly, fun, imaginative and a definite guilty pleasure. This first episode features an introduction that is a bit contrived, but the show is so goofy, I didn't care. Plus, well, there's nudity, which is always a plus for me. This series is no EVANGELION, but it is fun.

Over all, this first ep did a good job (if not an overly simplistic job) of establishing the world of the series. I've not seen the original show this is a remake/sequel of, so I can't say how good an adaption this is from the earlier work. With the level of silliness, though, I can't imagine as the quality of the adaption really matters.
I say check this show out, but make sure the kids aren't in the room, unless you don't mind them seeing beautiful cartoon boobies.

SPOILERS: This first episode is the introduction, or re-introduction to the character and world of Cutey Honey. Lawlessness reins on some planet (that might be Earth, but I can't tell) and even teenage Chokkei's parents are forced to turn to a life of crime in order to survive the terrible economy that has resulted from said lawlessness. However, Chokkei has hope in the city's mayor whom he goes to help when a ceremony the mayor is overseeing is overtaken by evil criminal bikers. Just when the mayor is about to meet his fate, Chokkei's grand father shows up with stacks of cool gadgets to fight the bikers with. Sadly, the bikers are too much for him and just as he is about to be killed, Dolmeck, the criminal mastermind of the city shows up and saves his life explaining that he is in charge and that no one dies (or kills) without his permission. Later, back and Granpa's lab, Chokkei notices this weird statue of all of these hot women. Chokkei asks who the women are. He is then told the story of a great warrior-guardian by the name of Cutey Honey. Chokkei comments that they all kind of look like the mayor's assistant. Grandpa realizes that the mayor's assistant is somehow Cutey Honey. The two then dash to a sort of town hall meeting to find the mayor's assistant to try to get her to remember that she is the legendary warrior-guardian. They arrive to discover that a crazed (but HOT) henchwoman of Dolmeck's has killed everyone in the town hall meeting except for the mayor and his assistant. After some prodding (and near death moments) the assistant realizes who she really is and saves the day.
