Hi,

I'm sure you've heard about Cheney claiming he isn't part of the Executive Branch. I'm also sure you'll recall his claim of Executive Privilege a few years back when we all wanted to know who he met with on that energy commission of his. A quick visit to WhiteHouse.Gov, the website of the Executive Branch, and you can find that not only does the Vice President have a web page on the site, but the office is also described as a member of President Bush's Cabinet, which also falls within the Executive Branch.

Given that public approval numbers for Congress (you guys) and for the Bush Administration are so incredibly low, wouldn't it behoove you to perhaps look into the "i" word (impeachment) for Mr. Cheney? I'd think this would be especially true as Cheney is trying to fool the American people with an argument that wouldn't fool a 3rd grade student in a social studies or history class.

After everything else that the Bush Administration has put us through, (Afghanistan, Iraq, Katrina, etc, etc) including now an apparent ignorance of their place in the United States Government, shouldn't impeachment be put back on the table?

As a Californian who been has registered as an independent for over a decade, I see no reason not to believe that Democrats are not just one of the two heads of a single political party. As my favorite Democrat, I hope you'll prove me wrong.

Cement your place in history by speaking out against this administration and push for impeachment of Bush and Cheney. We may be in a time of war, but incompetent leadership during a time of war is a recipe for failure, as we are currently seeing in both Iraq and
Afghanistan.

It is my understanding that all that is required to begin impeachment proceedings is for the president or the vice president to have violated the public trust. After this latest excuse to avoid compliance with his own boss' order how can we believe for a moment longer that Cheney is even vaguely concerned with the public trust?

Please do something.
