FREEDOM OF SPEECH TAKES ANOTHER HIT

Cory at BoingBoing.net blogs about how Bush+Guns collages at Flickr.com are being censored. I understand that threatening the guy in the White House is illegal, but is simply putting Bush and guns in the same picture a threat? I'd even say that such pictures just might deserve investigating--but 9 times out of 10 (probably more like 999 times out of a 1000), a person who makes such a picture is not interested in actually doing anything to anyone. So fine, investigate, but ban, too?

It's now illegal to to leave pictures that aren't a threat to the guy in the White House online? It's now illegal to say things that have been investigated and deamed non-threatening to Bush?

Alas, the pictures have been taken down so we can't judge for ourselves.

Isn't censorship great? It's like having a parent instead of a government.

You can read more about this by checking out the offending artist's Live Journal entry on the matter.
