Hey, wanna buy gas from a democracy? Think about that for a sec--none of the major oil producing countries is a democracy, save one. That's Venezuela. They happen to own Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., which in turn owns PDV America, Inc. which in turn owns Citgo. So, when you buy gas from Citgo, you're actually supporting a democratic government. Pretty cool, huh?
What's even better is that Hugo Chavez, the president of Venezuela, actually gives the people of his country a chunk of the profits from oil sales.
Imagine that! The people of a country benefiting from the sale of their own resources!

ReplyDeleteI'm guessing you're a conservative. But you've backed yourself into a corner with this. Either Chavez is democratically elected and so is Bush, or Chavez isn't and neither is Bush. I'd wager the latter, since I think any type of electronic ballot machine is inherently flawed, but that's just me.
Oh and as for being friends with a badguy making you a badguy, I'd say a whole stack of Presidents of the United States are waaay worse than Chavez. The US has been friends with all sorts of seriously bad guys and still is to this day. Have you looked at some of the terrorists that are helping us fight the war against terror? Just the guy in charge of Pakistan alone should say enough--dude led a coup to get power. He wasn't elected, but Pakistan is one of our closest allies. Then, isn't it the guy who runs Kurgistan who tortures dissidents? Sure, Castro executes his, but torture? Oh wait, you're a Republican, you probably think torture's A-OK.

This guy is clearly not living on the same planet Earth as I. First off, who cares what "extremist liberals" have to say or do about anything? THEY'RE NOT IN CONTROL. It's the Republicans who are running things. And coincidentally, it's the Republicans who are up on money laundering and bribery charges. It's the Republicans who have blown off rules and laws to suit their own ends (and only ocassionally get nailed for it). It's Republicans who have waged a war against several imaginary threats to America and what has allowed them to do all that (and break several laws in the process)? THEY'RE IN POWER.
Calling the liberals "extremists" is a joke. The only thing "extreme" about Democrats is how flacid they are. By the way, Republicans are the ones claiming Christianity is under attack. THAT'S extremism!! Being in 99% control of the United States Government and still claiming you're under attack paints yourselves as the most extreme extremists on the planet (not to mention paranoid).

The only thing that matters is money and power to any of these people. FYI: There are no true threats to America in the world anymore. You thnk a few thousand terrorists can take down America?
