CALIFORNIANS: VOTE NO ON ALL PROPS ON TUESDAY, 11/8/5!

K, so, Arnold has called a special election for 11/8/5, right? He's got a stack of propositions on the ballet and, basically, all of them are suspect. Not just because Arnold's a Republican, but because they all benefit the average Californian a little while helping big business and the Republicans (and even Arnold, himself) a lot.

This special election sure seems like just a power grab by Arnold. There is even one proposition (76) gives the governor the ability to cut funding to whatever programs he sees fit whenever he wants. That kind of power is not a good thing for anyone to have.

The Founding Fathers of the United States designed government so that nothing drastic could be done easily. Giving any one person the power to do something easily and without oversight is a bad idea.

This is just one example of how these propositions are not good for Californians. I hate to sound like a leftie/libby, but just play it safe and vote no on all of these propositions. If they're that important they'll be brought back for a real election.

But it's important that you get out and actually vote. Don't just sit back and think not voting is as good as voting no. If we all get out there and vote against these propositions, we'll be sending a clear message to Arnold and the press that we don't support him.

If you don't vote, you just might see cuts to programs that could effect your safety. I'm not trying to fear-monger, here--just pointing out that Arnold has his eyes on anything that benefits the little folks. What do we expect from a rich, white Republican?

My polling place is open at 7am, closes at 8pm and odds are yours has the same hours, too, so you should have plenty of time to get over there. If being registered in another area is your excuse to not vote, isn't it time you registered in your area? (Sorry for the political guilt, but I don't use it often!)

I am of the pretty firm belief that national elections are rigged. This will be an interesting test to see if local elections are rigged, too. Watch for all or most of the props to pass--if they do, especially with a landslide, you'll know what I'll be thinking...
