I always ask them "Isn't hydrogen the most common element in the universe?"
"That may be," they say, "but it's very hard and expensive to isolate."
John Laumer [http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006/01/backyard_hydrog_1.php|blogs] over at TreeHugger.com about a guy who can do it in his backyard. Said dude is trying to get his hands on $600,000 of a $1.3 billion USG fund that is marked for hydrogen development. Said dude also said that his system will make gas stations go away forever since everyone will just fuel their hydrogen cars in their homes.
Oh yeah, this guy's going to see that money. I'm sure the oil company and car company lobbyists will have no problem with his ideas at all.
Sad, sad,
