I found a cool tool for learning Japanese thanks to an entry at JapaneseJapanese.Com. The app is called Kotoba and it works in a way unlike any language tool I've ever seen. You keep it open and running while you work on other stuff. All day long, it flashes new words in Japanese so you can get used to seeing them. Yes, what the words mean is also displayed.
